Originally from Southland, the last 17 years have been spent in Ashburton with his partner where they chose to settle and start their family.

Being a father of two children, his negotiating skills are well honed. He enjoys the involvement in their afterschool activities and sports, in which he is often coaching or managing their teams and being present on the sideline. Living in a small community where he is seen as a positive contributor as well as an active member of the schools Board of Trustees.
